Six Principles of Successful Businesses to be presented at Dixie State College

ST. GEORGE – Dixie State College of Utah’s Udvar-Hazy School of Business will host a special forum featuring a presentation by Alan E. Hall, co-founder and managing director of Mercato Partners, this Thursday, Jan. 19, in the Dunford Auditorium of the Browning Resource Center on the DSC campus. Admission is free for all community members, DSC students, and faculty and staff.

Mr. Hall will discuss the “Six Principles of Successful Businesses,” and will also hold a question and answer session following his presentation. Prior to establishing Mercato Partners, a firm that specializes in investing in high-growth technology and consumer businesses, Hall was founder and CEO of MarketStar Corporation, an outsourced global marketing and sales organization which helps 30 of the world’s largest high technology companies generate billions of dollars in revenue from the small to medium business space. After selling MarketStar to Omnicom in 1998, he assisted Omnicom management in acquiring channel sales businesses nationwide.

Hall is the founder Grow Utah, a non-profit organization which fosters entrepreneurial development, and co-founder of Junto Partners, an education initiative to help mentor aspiring entrepreneurs. He is currently the chairman of the Utah Technology Council; a member of Wells Fargo’s community advisory board; and a founding board member of the World Trade Center Utah. Hall has also been honored as the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year and the 2009 Mountainwest Capital Network Entrepreneur of the Year. He is a graduate of Weber State University and has earned an MBA from Brigham Young University’s Marriot School of Management.

The presentation will take place in the  Dunford Auditorium of the Browning Center on the Dixie State College campus from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 19.

    The presentation is 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. in the Dunford Auditorium of the Browning Center on the DSC campus today.
