Flyers pull away late to beat rival Pine View

ST. GEORGE – The Dixie Flyers outscored the Pine View Panthers by 10 points in the fourth quarter to win the game 64-51. The Flyers and Panthers both had three players in double figures.

Guards Devin Bennett and Deshon Brown led the Flyers. Bennett finished with 17 points while Brown chipped in with 15 points. Center Walker Swenson scored 10 points in only his second game back from surgery.

Freshman Kody Wilstead and junior Dallin Milne each scored 14 points for the Panthers and sophomore Jack Bangerter added 11.

The Young Panthers fall to 0-3 in Region play and 7-5 overall. The Panthers host 0-3 Canyon View on Friday at 7 p.m.

The Flyers improve to 3-1 in Region play and are now in a tie for second place in Region 9. The Flyers play the team they are tied with the Snow Canyon Warriors on Friday at Dixie High School. The Flyers are now 7-6 on the season and on a three game winning streak.
