DRAPER – After a scoreless first quarter the Juan Diego Soaring Eagles scored 41 unanswered points to beat the Dixie Flyers 41-0 Friday night in Draper.

The Flyers turned the ball over six times on the night, including once at the Soaring Eagles’ 10-yard line when the score was still 0-0.

The Flyers’ quarterback, Blake Barney, threw for 236 yards but threw three interceptions and had a fumble.

The Soaring Eagles’ running back Brock Garn had 87 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Running back Cayden Sanchez led the way for the Soaring Eagles with 167 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

The Flyers only trailed 14-0 at the half, but the Soaring Eagles put it together in the second half with touchdown drives on almost every second half position.

The Flyers started the game playing great driving into Soaring Eagles’ territory time and time again, but the Flyers had two fumbles and had a punt blocked. That really turned the momentum around for the Soaring Eagles. The Soaring Eagles’ first touchdown was on a halfback pass from Garn.

The Soaring Eagles will take on Spanish Fork next week. Spanish Fork beat Morgan Friday night 35-20.
