ST. GEORGE – A couple SkyWest employees were surprised to find their vehicles rammed into late this morning after a 22-year-old driving on South River Road narrowly missed his turn, and hit a parked vehicle.
Sgt. Craig Harding said the driver was traveling south on River Road when he missed a right-hand turn on 400 South, and took the turn at the last minute.
“[He] decided that he needed to make a right-hand turn, so he made a right-hand turn without slowing down,” Harding said. “His speed was too fast, some where around 30 miles per hour. He went up over the curb, onto the sidewalk, around one parked car, striking another parked car.”
The vehicle that was struck was then pushed into another parked vehicle.
The owner of the first vehicle that was struck said no one was injured or in the vehicles at the time.
“I overheard the other driver saying that his GPS told him to turn right so he made a sudden right,” Linda Chamberlain said.
The front end of her black pickup was damaged in the accident.
