WASHINGTON COUNTY – A single-vehicle accident today left one woman in critical condition after she was ejected from the vehicle.

Corporal Todd Johnson said emergency personnel were called at 12:47 p.m. today after a passenger vehicle with two occupants lost control on Interstate 15 at mile marker 24.

Johnson said the car, traveling south, went off the left shoulder and hit a concrete barrier before crossing back into the right lanes and rolling several times. The 63-year-old female passenger was ejected from the vehicle.

The original reports stated the 65-year-old driver might have been pinned in the vehicle, however Johnson said the driver was able to walk around. A helicopter was called in and then later called off for the passenger, who was transported by ambulance in critical condition.

Johnson said the cause of the accident is under investigation.

The victim in this accident passed away shortly after. She is a friends mother and I know my friend appreciated the photo. She found the info on your site before even being able to get details from the police. Thanks for that.
