Mike Needham scored four touchdowns before halftime to bring the Desert Hill Thunder (2-1) their second win of the year. The Thunder led 40-7 at the half and put another one on the board before the game was over. When all was said and done, Desert Hills won 46-14 by pounding the ball on the ground and scoring five rushing touchdowns.
Needham scored on runs of 19, 29, and 6 yards. Needham also scored on an 89-yard kickoff in the first quarter. Needham finished with 119 rushing yards, 39 receiving yards, and 89 return yards.
Quarterback, Porter Harris, never got things going thru the air but made up for it on the ground, scoring two rushing touchdowns and 83 rushing yards.
Desert Hills starts Region 9 play against undefeated Canyon View Friday night at 7 p.m. at Desert Hills.
