WASHINGTON CITY – Officers in Washington City arrested two St. George residents after investigating a robbery at a storage unit.

On Aug. 22, a Washington City resident reported his storage unit had been broken into and a substantial amount of personal property was taken, Ed Kantor said in a press release.

“Initial investigation by Washington City Public Safety officers and detectives led to the discovery of several of the stolen items at various area pawn shops,” Kantor said.

During the investigation, officers searched the residence of a 26-year-old St. George man, and discovered a large amount of stolen property from that storage unit, as well as from other burglaries and thefts throughout Washington County.

“We would like to encourage anyone who has a storage unit in Washington County to inspect their unit and contents to determine if they are missing any property,” Kantor said. “If you determine your unit has been entered and are missing contents, contact your local law enforcement agency.”

Washington City Public Safety officers are working with St. George and Hurricane Police on this ongoing investigation.
