ST. GEORGE – On September 3, 2011 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., the Dixie-Arizona Strip Interpretive Association and the Dixie National Forest will host a season-ending celebration at the Pine Valley Heritage Center. The public is invited to join the festivities.
“This will be a fun family afternoon at the Heritage Center and a great way to beat the heat while enjoying the beauty of Pine Valley,” said Debbie Bice, DASIA.
“The Pine Valley Ranger District and DASIA have had a great year of partnership,” said Bevan Killpack, Pine Valley district ranger.  “We are excited to have one last celebration at the Heritage Center to close the season out.”
Smokey Bear will be in attendance to entertain children.  DASIA will be selling concessions (carmel corn, corn dogs, pop, water, ice cream, popsicles, and homemade jam).  Artists will be on hand to display paintings and photographs.  There will be a big sidewalk sale of merchandise from the Pine Valley Heritage Center store (operated by DASIA). Experts will be on hand to demonstrate quilting and basket making.
For more information, contact the St. George Interagency Visitors Center at (435) 688-3200 or the Pine Valley Ranger District at (435) 652-3100.
