Washington Man Pleads Not Guilty to Attempted Murder in Home Depot Assault

WASHINGTON COUNTY – Charles Adam Swogger, 22, pled not guilty today in 5th District Court to five felony counts, including attempted murder.

Swogger’s attorney asked that a trial date be set for November. Swogger is charged with Attempted Murder, Forcible Sodomy, Aggravated Sexual Abuse, Rape with an Object and Attempted Burglary.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, on December 17, 2009, Swogger allegedly walked into the Home Depot in Washington and sexually assaulted a female employee who was eating dinner in the break room. A male employee came to her aid when Swogger allegedly stabbed both employees.

Swogger remains in Purgatory Correctional Facility.
