ST. GEORGE – Detectives who performed a drug interdiction last night arrested an Iowa man who was allegedly transporting eight pounds of marijuana from Las Vegas to his hometown.
Lt. Dave Moss said officers stopped the man for failure to use his signal. During the traffic stop, the man cooperated with officers who found the marijuana in the trunk wrapped in plastic, Moss said.
The suspect was also arrested for paraphernalia and an outstanding warrant.
In a separate incident early this morning, Moss said officers then received information that a man in Gunlock may be growing marijuana. Detectives went to the home and spoke with the owners.
Moss said the suspect was staying at the home and the owners allowed detectives to search the home for drugs. Several small plants were found and the suspect was subsequently arrested for possession and cultivation.
