Three Arrested on Felony Charges After Firearms Stolen from Washington City Home

WASHINGTON – Three Washington City residents were arrested on five felony charges of theft of a firearm and burglary yesterday.

The charges stem from a month-long investigation after one of the suspect’s parents noticed guns, coins and jewelry had gone missing from their home.

Ed Kantor, law enforcement division chief for Washington City Public Safety, said the victim was in the process of moving items into a storage unit when she noticed that the firearms that are normally kept in the garage had gone missing. The victim then discovered other items missing from the home.

Officers began investigating those who were familiar with the property and knew where the guns were kept, Kantor said. In their investigation, they found enough evidence to arrest the daughter, her roommate and the roommate’s boyfriend, he said.

Kantor said the items had been sold or pawned for money, and officers have recovered some of the stolen items so far.
