TURLOCK, CA-After a first round 75 by Kyle Chappell (Richfield, UT/Richfield), the Dixie State College golf team was in 14th place after 18 holes. He rebounded to shoot a 2-under 70 at the Par 72 6,641 yard at the Turlock Golf and Country Club. The Red Storm are now in 10th place overall and Chappell is tied for 6th place in the 20-team Hanny Stanislaus Invitational.
Dixie State’s Nick Drost (Salt Lake City, UT/Brighton HS) shot an even par 72 in the second round improving on his 1st round total of 79. He sits tied for 36th. Conner Jones shot 155 (78-77) for 58th, Chad Crowther shot 158 (83-75) and Taylor Reardon shot 162 (78-84).
Host school CSU-Stanislaus leads the tournament with 291-291 and five stokes better than CSU-San Bernardino.
CSUSB’s Kenny Pigman leads the individual honors with a stellar 135 (67-68).
