Salt Lake Woman Arrested for Rape of a Child in Springdale

SPRINGDALE – A Salt Lake City teen was arrested for rape of a child and attempted rape of a child, a first and second degree felony, in Springdale Saturday.

Springdale Chief Kurt Wright said Kymmeri Laceigh Smith, 18, who also goes by Laceigh in online profiles, has been visiting friends and family in La Verkin and met the victim three weeks ago. He asked that no further details be provided while the investigation is ongoing as it would identify the young victim.

Rape of a child is a classification for a child under the age of 14 according to Utah law.
