Teen Arrested for Running Over Two Girls, Minor Consumption

ST. GEORGE – Officers arrested a 19-year-old Washington City teen for allegedly running over two girls in a parking lot.

Officer Johnny Heppler said a 20-year-old and 16-year-old girl were taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center by private transportation around 2:30 a.m. today, complaining of injuries from a vehicle accident. Many details are not yet available while the incident is being investigated, however Heppler said the girls alleged that they were drinking in a parking lot when a vehicle backed up and hit them, and then left the scene.

Heppler said officers located the alleged suspect at his Washington City home where he was sleeping when they arrived.

The teen was arrested on charges of probation violation, alcohol restriction, driving with a suspended license, minor consumption and leaving the scene of an accident.

The two girls were also cited for minor consumption.
