Top 10 Honor for Whitehead

QUEEN CREEK, ARIZ. (January 10) – Dixie State College senior forward Tom Whitehead was named to the Pacific West Conference Top 10 Honor Roll for the fifth time this season. The announcement came Sunday night from the conference office in Arizona.

Whitehead was the lone Red Storm player in double figures with 23 points in last Saturday’s Pac West Conference opening loss to Grand Canyon. He pulled down six rebounds and made six of seven shots from the foul line.

The senior from St. George has been named to the PWC Top 10 or garnered Player of the Week honors in every report except two. In those weeks, Dixie State did not have any games to qualify.

Hawaii-Hilo forward Zach Wilde averaged a double-double of 14.3 points and 11.7 rebounds a game in a flawless week for the Vulcans to earn the Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Dixie State College does not play another Pac West game until Monday, January 17 in San Francisco against the Academy of Art University. Tipoff against the Urban Knights at the historic Kezar Pavilion is scheduled for 8:30pm Mountain.
