Weekly Construction Report Includes Toquerville to New Harmony

I-15, Black Ridge to the Iron County Line

Location: Between the Toquerville and New Harmony exits.

Activity:

The contractor is installing guardrail and fence along the southbound lanes from
mileposts 36 – 42. In the northbound lanes installation of an advanced traffic
management system is being extended through the length of the project and
ground work is being laid for a new climbing lane between mileposts 34 and 38.

Impact:

Monday through Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m. southbound traffic will be
reduced to one lane in isolated areas and speed reduced to 65 m.p.h. During the
daytime a isolated lane closures and reduced speeds are possible adjacent to
shoulder work.

I-15, Dixie Drive Interchange

Location: St. George (Mileposts 5 – 6)

Activity:

Soil stabilization and column work is underway to support the future interchange.
The final phase of sheet pile wall construction will begin this week. Excavation
work continues on the shoulders and at Dixie Drive. Utility work continues near
the Dixie Center parking lot.

Impact:

The right southbound lane will be closed to accommodate soil stabilization
procedures. Two lanes of northbound traffic remain open. All exits are open.
Speed is reduced to 55 m.p.h. The Hilton Drive trail is closed. Northbound traffic
has been shifted to the southbound side of the interstate near the Santa Clara
bridge.

S.R. 9, 300 West To 800 North Hurricane

Location: Hurricane City State Street

Activity:

Median island work continues. Retaining wall construction and fence installation is
ongoing. Final pavement will be laid in the spring.

Impact:

From 100 East to 800 North, traffic runs one lane on each side of the road, leaving
the inside lanes closed to accommodate work on the center islands.
