Utah gets fourth seat in the House

WASHINGTON – Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) issued the following statement after the U.S. Census Bureau unveiled its 2010 Census population numbers and announced that Utah will get a fourth seat in the House of Representatives:

“This is a terrific day for the people of our great state. Utah is one of the most vibrant and fastest growing states in America and will now have more appropriate representation in Congress.  I have worked since the last census to find a way of giving Utahns the representation they deserve, and I am confident that the Utah legislature will draw a fair congressional map.”

In 2000, Utah missed getting a fourth House seat by 857 residents.
