Cooper’s Hawk rescued at Walmart

Correction: Allen Fish from the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy in Sausalito, Calif., emailed Dixie Press stating the bird rescued at Walmart is a Cooper's Hawk. Cooper's are a crow-sized, slender, bird-eating hawk with long thin legs and a longer tail, he said.

ST. GEORGE – Police officers with the St. George Police Department, along with Animal Control and a concerned citizen, rescued a Red-tailed Hawk today from the Bloomington Walmart.

An officer said the Hawk was believed to have a broken wing.
