DSC to present brass ensemble holiday concert

ST. GEORGE – Dixie State College of Utah’s Department of Music is presenting the debut concert of the Dixie State Brass Ensemble of the 2010-11 performance season this Thursday, December 2, at 7:30 p.m., at the DSC Dolores Dore’ Eccles Fine Arts Center Concert Hall.

The Dixie State College Brass Ensemble, a 14-piece group under the direction of Dr. Shannon Roberts, will perform selections ranging from Wagner to Holiday and motion picture favorites. The ensemble will also feature original arrangements by DSC students Austin Paxman and Ben Stratford, and Dr. Roberts. The finale will be a special new arrangement of “’Twas the night before Christmas,” with guest conductor Gary Caldwell and guest narrator Connie Nokes-Roberts.

General admission tickets for each concert will be available at the door for $5 for adults and $1 for DSC students and faculty and staff with current ID.
