ST. GEORGE – Dixie Optical will have its grand opening on Nov. 12 and 13. Dixie Optical is located just up the hill from the intersection of Main and Bluff Streets at 1495 S. Black Ridge Drive, off Hilton Drive.
 
Festivities start at noon and run until 6 p.m., on Friday with a ribbon cutting and a complementary BBQ, pulled pork lunch. 
 
Dixie Optical’s representatives will be in town displaying all their sunglasses and eyeglasses, at 40 percent off retail prices. Prada, Ray-Ban, Dior, Columbia and Nicole Miller are just some of the brands to choose from.
 
Hourly drawings for prizes including: designer sunglasses, lenses, frames, sportswear and eye exams. The grand prize drawing is a Cruise for two. DJ Lex will be at Dixie Optical from 3 to 6 p.m. with music and to announce the hourly winners.
 
Two certified opticians, Dixie Optical owner Lynda Burgess and Carol Goheen, will be on hand to style all those who drop by to try on over 1,000 frames. Burgess and Goheen each have over 20 years of experience. As certified opticians, they are qualified for eyewear makeovers and to make sure glasses and sunglasses fit right. Stop by for adjustments and cleanings anytime.
 
Dixie Optical has partnered with an independent optometrist, Dr Robert Hillstead, OD. Hillstead will be on hand Friday afternoon to answer any eye concerns.
 
Patients can bring in any current eyeglass prescription, as Dixie Optical specializes in difficult prescriptions.
 
On Saturday, Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. until noon, hourly prizes continue, along with the 40 percent off sale. A light breakfast will be served. Capture Photography will be on hand to take Christmas family photos, Facebook pictures and hot shots.
