Detectives arrest eight on drug charges

ST. GEORGE – Detectives with the Washington County Drug and Gang Task Force arrested eight people in two separate cases on drug charges.

Lt. David Moss said detectives received information that an adult male living in La Verkin was allegedly dealing drugs. Officers met with the man in Hurricane and found enough narcotics to arrest him, and another male driving the vehicle, and charge them both on multiple drug charges.

Detectives then served a search warrant for his home and were able to charge the male with additional charges of intent to distribute marijuana, Moss said. They also arrested another male in the home on charges of possession.

In a second case, officers arrested five males and one female on multiple drug charges in St. George. Detectives were investigating two adults on distribution charges. After serving a search warrant on their St. George home, officers found packaging material, under a $1,000 in cash and paraphernalia, Moss said.

Four others in the home were also arrested on possession charges.
