All 4 Adventure: Red Cliffs

One of my favorite places that is really close, is the Red Cliffs Recreation area. Many people either drive right by not knowing it’s there, or have been there many times, like me, but need some reminding to go back.

This area is located just between the Hurricane freeway exit and Leeds in Southern Utah. I recommend taking the freeway to the Leeds exit, and as soon as you exit the off ramp, turn back south and follow the frontage road.

After driving south a few miles, you will see the Harrisburg trailer resort on the left, and a right hand, or westward, turn going under the freeway. This will take you to a fee area.

I believe it is $5 dollars for a day use per vehicle, or it is available to camp overnight, as well. I like to camp here in the fall and spring because it is the perfect weather.

There are several smaller trails and one main trail leading to pools of water and some amazing views of red rocks and cliffs. Some people go here to rappel and others go to walk.

I have even seen pets on leashes in this area. There are picnic tables, and shade trees all over. This is just a really nice place to go if you only have an hour, or all day.

This is on the top of my list of must-see areas in Southern Utah. It is approx 15 minutes from St. George to Red Cliffs Recreation area. Also, Quail Lake is nearby if you want to spend some time fishing or hanging out at the lake.
