Allgood Coin relocates

ST. GEORGE – Allgood Coin recently relocated from 61 S 500 E, to its new location in the Sunset Corners shopping complex, located at the corners of Bluff Street and Sunset Drive.

One of the motivating factors in the move was the need for more floor space and parking. The previous building was located in a residential neighborhood. Relocating to the new commercial area has boosted visibility and foot traffic, said owner Troy Nelson.

Allgood Coin has also extended its hours of service; it is now open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

With the larger space, Allgood Coin has doubled its inventory of bullion and collectible coins. They have also added a larger selection of books and accessories. Allgood Coin is a full service coin and precious metal dealer. Whether you wish to buy, sell, or receive an appraisal, you will find your needs met, Troy Nelson said.

According to Charolette Nelson, they have a diverse cliental and many travel as far away as Las Vegas. Most are lured by the fact that Utah currently has no sales tax on coins.

Troy Nelson said “there has been a change in what customers are purchasing now” due to the economic downturn. At one time, 90 percent of sales pertained to collectible coins and 10 percent in bullion; it has now reversed to bullion being the most sought after.

With the rise in the price of goods and services, many people have a concern in preserving their wealth, and turn to physical gold and silver as a safety net.

Currently Allgood Coin does not have a web presence. However plans are in place to develop a blog.
