Las Vegas, Nev.

Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother Evah Leora Mitchell Goodman passed away peacefully on September 25, 2010. She was born in Magna, Utah on December 17, 1921 to Zaddock Clarence Mitchell and Cecil May Parkin Mitchell.

Evah graduated from Cyprus High School. On May 22, 1943 she married her best friend and soul mate Russel Max Goodman. Together they raised two daughters, Rohana Lee Goodman Parker and Ronda Maxine Goodman-Corbin. They moved from Salt Lake City to Pocatello, ID where they also enjoyed a summer home at Island Park Reservoir. Together they spent many days boating and fishing there as Evah was an avid and competitive fisherman. She was often credited with catching the first, biggest and the most fish for the day. From there they moved to St. George, Utah where she continued to enjoy taking care of her beloved husband Russ, gardening, cooking, entertaining and helping her community and neighbors. They enjoyed traveling around the country and cruising after their retirement. In 2004 they relocated to Las Ventanas Living Center in Las Vegas (Summerlin), NV where they have enjoyed the sunshine and made many new friends.

She is survived by her husband, Russ, daughters, Rohana and Ronda, as well as, four grand-daughters: Jodi, Janae, Trista, Evah and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings: Delbert Mitchell, Leone McGill and Norma Miller

A memorial service will be held at Las Ventanas Living Center, 10401 South Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas, NV at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 30, 2010. There will be a viewing from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd. in St. George, Utah with Graveside services to follow at the St. George City Cemetery starting at 2:30 pm on Friday, October 1, 2019.
