Hurricane Tigers steal the Thunder

ST. GEORGE – In an epic five-game battle at Desert Hills Tuesday night,  the Tigers came from behind to beat the Thunder. The first set was won handily by the home team 25-12. The second set was a little tougher but the Thunder held tough with a 28-26 victory. The Tigers had gained confidence going into the third set of the night and beat Desert Hills 25-19.
 
All of this was just a preface to the instant classic battle of the fourth set. Hurricane had seized the momentum of the match and led 21-17. The Thunder would not go quietly as they battled back to tie it at 25. The advantage swung back and forth, finally the Tigers would win the set 30-28. The momentum gained from winning the epic fourth set propelled them to a decisive blow in the fifth and deciding set, the Tigers closed out the Thunder 15-10.
 
The victory stopped a two-match losing streak for the Tigers and improved their season record to 8-12. The Tigers will enjoy a three-game home stand facing Canyon View, Cedar and then Pine View.
 
For the Thunder, the loss snapped a five-game winning streak. Their season record is 8-5. The Thunder will next travel to Pine View and then host the Warriors of Snow Canyon and then the Dixie Flyers.
