ST. GEORGE – Are you interested in fighting sexism and expanding women’s rights in our community? If so, there’s a new group in town called UltraViolet and it’s part of the national UltraViolet (www.weareultraviolet.org) organization. UltraViolet works on a range of issues, including health care, economic security, violence, and reproductive rights.
The local UltraViolet group will meet on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Jazzy’s, 235 N. Bluff St. St. George. All those interested in working for “equality at a higher frequency” and helping to plan our local event for Jan. 24, 2015 as part of a nationwide UltraViolet event, please attend. Women and men are working toward equality so all are invited. (Jazzy’s has great breakfasts which is why we decided to meet here and it’s locally owned!) Topics of discussion may include:

One of the goals today is to start organizing a community event in January to elevate women’s rights here and nationally. What could we do at an event in January to engage more people in this conversation?
Michelene Perez, an instructor at DSU, sponsored the first meeting in November as part of UltraViolet’s Party with a Purpose initiative.
