ST. GEORGE –  The St. George Art Museum will host the eighth annual “For the Love of Art” home tours fundraiser on the mornings of Friday, Oct. 17, and Saturday, Oct. 18. This popular event features a tour of three upscale homes each with impressive, one-of-a-kind art collections (to protect the privacy of the homeowners, participants will not be told where the homes are located until they are on the bus).

A limited number of tickets for seats on two buses are now available for purchase to art enthusiasts from board members or at the front desk of the St. George Art Museum located at 47 E. 200 North in St. George.

The ticket price of $65 per person includes lunch at the Painted Pony following the tour and a $50 donation to the museum for the purchase of art for the museum’s permanent collection, including an original sketch entitled “Monolith” by 20th century American artist Maynard Dixon whose work focused on the untamed American west. The museum is also hoping to purchase a work by Conrad Buff, Dixon’s friend who frequently visited his Mt. Carmel home and studio to capture on canvas the beauty of Zion Canyon.

Space is limited for this exclusive tour. Call 627-4525 today to reserve your tickets.

The St. George Art Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 47 E. 200 North. According to the museum’s mission statement, the city-owned and operated facility exists “to educate … through quality exhibitions from all periods, cultures and media … and to collect, conserve, inventory, exhibit and interpret art and artifacts from Utah and the West.”

For more information about the For the Love of Art Home Tour or to reserve tickets for either day, telephone 435-627-4525.
