Senior Games needs volunteers

ST. GEORGE — The Huntsman World Senior Games needs volunteers in several areas during its ambitious two-week event. More than 2,500 volunteers are needed to manage the needs of nearly 11,000 senior athletes from all over the United States and several foreign countries in town from October 5-17.

Ten men or women are needed to transport fruit to volunteers at various venues around town. Shifts are daily from 6:30–9 a.m. Volunteers are encouraged to take multiple shifts, but those available only once are welcome to sign up, as well.

The Senior Games Gift Shop needs volunteer hosts to help customers select merchandise to purchase, keep merchandise neatly displayed and stocked; and to answer questions regarding the Gift Shop, the Games or the St. George area.

There is also a need for cashiers with some experience who are able to operate our “very user friendly” touch screen cash register and/or a credit card machine.

Training will be provided on Sept. 30. Volunteers unable to attend the cashier training may make a one-on-one appointment.

Shifts for hosts or cashiers are 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 12:30-4:30 p.m. or 4:30–9 p.m. on Sunday. On weekdays and Saturday, shifts are 8 a.m. to noon, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. or 2-6 p.m.

Interested volunteers are encouraged to sign up online at www.seniorgames.net, by e-mail to [email protected] or call 435-669-8020 with questions.
