Not your typical tech company, Holbrook Asphalt celebrates 20 years in business

ST. GEORGE — While in full stride and backed by another record-producing year, Holbrook Asphalt is celebrating 20 years in business Feb. 15 at its national headquarters in St. George.

Reaching the milestone is something Tregg Holbrook, founder and president of Holbrook Asphalt, doesn’t gloss over lightly.

“We’ve been so fortunate to have a team of employees that have never settled for the status quo. Our success is the result of two things—our great staff and our determination to provide each customer with the maximum value for each dollar spent with us.”

Keynoting the lunchtime event will be Craig Bolerjack, the celebrated play-by-announcer for the Utah Jazz. The abbreviated agenda also includes Mayor Jon Pike of St. George.

The celebration will be held at Holbrook Asphalt located at 1545 E Commerce Drive, at 11:30 a.m., Feb. 15 with presenters beginning at noon and lunch will be provided by Chef Hog.

What has highlighted Holbrook Asphalt’s success? Holbrook Asphalt is recognized nationally as a driver for new technology in pavement preservation.

Beginning in 2002, Holbrook Asphalt initiated a seven-year R&D process evaluating the performance and durability of a new asphalt preservation treatment. In 2009, backed by the enthusiasm of

engineers that assessed the seven-year-old installations, Holbrook Asphalt introduced HA5® High Density Mineral Bond to the marketplace. The introduction of this engineering breakthrough in pavement preservation immediately translated to rapid growth for the company.

Taking the opportunity to disrupt a largely stagnant industry, this technology provides each client with the maximum extension of pavement life for every dollar spent.

Today HA5®, made available by Holbrook Asphalt (holbrookasphalt.com) and its sister company IPS (preserveasphalt.com), is now installed in 24 states with two of the most recent public agency adopters being the cities of Dallas, TX and Orlando, FL. Public agencies across the country are rapidly adopting HA5 because of the demand for lowering the infrastructure costs required for maintaining roads.

“Extending the useful life of a road reduces the burden on taxpayers as the costs of ownership drop,” said Mark Beatty, senior VP at Holbrook Asphalt. He said:

Pavement maintenance isn’t new. Treating a road with a sealer that turns the pavement black for a year or two is better than doing nothing. But turning asphalt pavement black does not necessarily mean that you are effectively extending the useful life of the street or parking lot. That’s where technology comes in and the benefits of HA5®. Locally there are HA5® installations 10 years and older that continue to show exceptionally high durability while reducing pavement deterioration and the cost of ownership
