Logan Haymore, who is an Eagle Scout and also just turned 14 that Saturday, was awarded a Good Citizenship Award and a Distinguished Service Award by the Marine Corps League for his Eagle Scout Project this past December.

When the time arrived to create a project for his Eagle Scout rank he decided on a handmade plush toy bear for the Dixie Regional Medical Center Pediatrics.

His original goal was 200 bears but with his organizational skills and friends and family he was able to create 420 bears.

His concept came from when he was younger and experienced some time in the hospital. A plush toy gave him comfort then and he never forgot.

The awards were presented by Col. Dave Waters, USMC (Ret’d) and present Commandant of the Utah Dixie Detachment.

Logan’s family, mom, dad, grandmother, grandfather and little brother accompanied him for the presentation breakfast and awards ceremony which occurred at the monthly meeting of the Marine Corps League.
