ST. GEORGE — Big O Tires five Southern Utah stores, Mesquite, three in St George and one in Cedar, are proud supporters of the NOLA Tree Project, an organization dedicated to building strong healthy communities and Blessings in a Backpack, a non-profit organization focused on mobilizing communities, individuals and resources to support elementary school children across America.

The initiative was first launched at the Big O Tires Annual Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana in April 2019 where 800 backpacks were packed full of supplies and provided to local students to get them started off on the right foot for the upcoming school year. Each backpack contained a personal handwritten note from Big O Tires franchisees from across the country.

Following the convention, Big O Tires Southern Utah has an opportunity to make an even bigger impact.

“We’re challenging the Southern Utah community to help the Drew Brees Super Service Challenge raise up to $50,000 for Blessings in a Backpack,” said Loy Dobson, Mark Griffin and Steve Pickett, three local Big O Tires owners.

“It’s easy and together we can make a big difference. Simply click here and cast a vote for the Big O Tires Gives Back to NOLA Kids video.”

For every 50 votes, the Drew Brees Super Service Challenge to Blessings in a Backpack will donate $1.

“We really enjoyed the opportunity to get to know members of the Big O Tires community at their annual convention in New Orleans and we are so appreciative of the relationships that we made as a result of the backpack initiative to support the children of New Orleans,” said Connie Uddo, executive director of NOLA Tree Project.

“We look forward to continuing to support event more children in the great state of Louisiana through the Super Service Challenge with the help of the Big O Tires network.”
