Five County Association of Governments conducts public transit feasibility study; St. George to Springdale and Zion National Park

SOUTHERN UTAH — The Five County Association of Governments in association with the Dixie Metropolitan Planning Organization is inviting the public to three public meetings to discuss their needs and ideas to help the study team determine the feasibility of a transit service from St George to Springdale and Zion National Park. The potential transit service would extend along the Highway 9 corridor. This service could benefit the local citizens, employers, employees, customers, visitors, and others trying to access services and attractions from St. George to Zion National Park through the cities of Washington, Hurricane, LaVerkin, Virgin, Rockville and Springdale.

Please take some time to talk to us about your needs for transportation between Springdale and St. George. There will be a short presentation and then we want to listen to you. The meetings will be held:

Monday, Feb. 8
9:30–11:30 a.m.
Hurricane Community Center
63 S. 100 West, Hurricane

Monday., Feb. 8
5:30–7:30 p.m.
Canyon Community Center
126 Lion Blvd., Springdale

Wednesday, Feb. 10
10 a.m to noon                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        St. George City Council Chamber
175 E. 200 North, St George

The planning project team will also have an information display and be able to answer questions at the Dixie Regional Transportation Expo on Tuesday Feb. 9 in the Dixie Center Ballroom.
