BYU Management Society luncheon feautres Jeff Bednar

ST. GEORGE — The BYU Managemen Society luncheon is pleased to announce guest speaker Jeff Bednar.

Most leaders try to get things done by relying on rational persuasion or hierarchical coercion. However, as you think back through your life, you can probably think of leaders whose relationship with you transcended these normal, transactional assumptions. Your life and your very identity were changed in a lasting way because of the influence of these leaders.

Regardless of the formal positions they occupy, researchers call these people “transformational leaders”, and we are beginning to understand a great deal about what makes transformational leaders so impactful. At the heart of transformational leadership are various principles of communication that can help you to develop transformative relationships with those around you. In this workshop, we will examine what transformational communication looks like and how this type of communication, when coupled with exemplary character, can help you to have a more positive influence on others around you.
