ST. GEORGE — A two-vehicle collision on 700 East Wednesday morning resulted in a citation for one of the drivers for failure to yield.
The incident, which was reported shortly after 6:30 a.m. near the Dixie State University campus, involved a white Toyota pickup and a white Nissan Rogue SUV.
St. George Police officer Tiffany Atkin said the Toyota pickup truck was heading south on 700 East when the driver attempted a left turn onto 300 South. It was struck on the passenger’s side door by the Nissan, which was heading north on 700 East.
“It couldn’t stop in time,” Atkin said, referring to the Nissan.
No serious injuries were reported, and neither driver was transported for medical treatment, Atkin said, adding that the driver of the Toyota pickup received a citation for not yielding to traffic when making a left turn.
Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Multiple airbags deployed in the Nissan, which was towed from the scene.
St. George Fire Department also responded and assisted with cleanup.
