Southern Utah weekend weather: Perfect fall weather with snow possible in higher elevations

ST. GEORGE— According to the National Weather Service, this weekend’s weather for the majority of southwestern Utah will be mostly sunny skies and cooler temperatures. However, a hazardous weather outlook for the majority of the state is predicting wind and snow in higher elevations.

St. George

Saturday 

Mostly sunny with a high of 69 and low of 45, with north winds of 7-9 mph, increasing to 12-17 mph in the evening.

Sunday

Mostly sunny with a high of 71 and low of 46, with east winds of 5 mph. Mostly cloudy in the evening.

Cedar City

Saturday 

Mostly sunny with a high of 54 and low of 32, with north winds of 8-11 mph, dropping to 5-9 after midnight.

Sunday

Partly sunny with a high of 59 and low of 36, with southwest winds of 5-10 mph in the afternoon.

Zion National Park/Springdale

Saturday 

Mostly sunny with a high of 68 and low of 43, with east-northeast winds of 5-9 mph, changing to north-northwest and picking up slightly after midnight.

Sunday

Partly sunny with a high near 67 and low of 46, with northeast winds of 5-10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Lake Powell/Bullfrog Basin/Halls Crossing

ADVISORY: Lake Powell’s mussel infestation continues to worsen

Saturday

Mostly sunny with a high of 61 and low of 39, with north wind of 7-15 mph.

Sunday 

Partly sunny with a high of 62 and low of 42, with west-southwest winds of 6 in the afternoon.

A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for the western two-thirds of Utah through Thursday, warning of the second wave of a fast-moving storm moving in Sunday resulting in a couple inches of snow in areas of mid to high elevation.

There is also a wind advisory in effect through 10 a.m. Saturday for the western Uinta Basin, Castle Country and along Interstate 70 near Fremont Junction. Winds are expected to gust up to 55 mph.
