ST. GEORGE — A teen who authorities say ran away from a wilderness program for at-risk youth has been found.
Update July 28, 8:15 p.m. Beaver County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the boy was found safe Saturday.
A RedCliffs Ascent nurse found the boy at a corral Saturday morning near the Rose Spring turnoff off of Pine Valley Road in Beaver county, Tom Cooper, a previous associate of RedCliffs Ascent, told St. George News.
According to a statement from Beaver County Sheriff’s Office, 13-year-old Roberto Madrigal ran away from the RedCliff Ascent program in a remote desert area in western Beaver County.
The Sheriff’s Office initiated a search for the boy employing the county’s Search and Rescue Division Thursday morning but called off the search later that evening after authorities say a “positive ID” was made of the boy in Enterprise.
KSL reports the boy was not located by police after his sighting in Enterprise, and he was still unaccounted for as of Friday evening.
The boy is from California and had been in the RedCliff Ascent program for a month.

so do these programs for at-risk youths work real well or what?
They often learn street tricks like drug dealing, cooking meth, you name it. They do get an education.
He looks like a wanna be gangster
Run Roberto Run !!! Cali is ————> that way.
F.Y.I. NOBODY from California calls it Cali.
These programs are not cheap. I was told $32,000.00 for 90 days. And many much more than that. They seem to work according to staff comments. I have no first hand knowledge of the success.
I’m so glad he’s safe. Thirteen is a tough age to be. I hope things get better for him.
karensg. Agreed. I hope he makes it.
