ST. GEORGE — Tickets are still available for the biggest fireworks show and concert ever held in Southern Utah, and the unprecedented celebration is something you won’t want to miss, featuring headliner and award-winning singer Scott McCreery, famous for winning American Idol in 2011.

“This is the biggest ‘4th of July Celebration’ in the history of the world,” Bill West, of 95.9 KZHK The Hawk said enthusiastically Wednesday, anticipating the event.

Three ways to still get tickets: You can get your tickets online; you can get them at the Dixie State University Box Office located at the Cox Performing Arts Center on campus throughout the day; or you can get them at the gate until they run out.

This fireworks and concert is the largest event in KONY’s 30-year history. Add to that, Dixie State University’s Trailblazer Stadium is sporting a new grandstand on the east side, which will add a lot more seating room for the concert this year.

Scotty McCreery, a 24-year-old star from North Carolina, is the concert headliner, gracing Southern Utah with his first performance following his honeymoon.  special guest Tim Gates, lead singer for country music band Due West.

Gates open at 6 p.m. The show starts at 8 p.m. with fireworks launching at 10 p.m.

Come early to park and walk to the stadium. Have your tickets out – if on-phone tickets, brighten your phones – for quick scanning and entry to the venue.

This energetic and dynamic community event for all ages is one you can come to without feeling like a pack mule; no coolers, no chairs, no outside food and drinks will be welcome in except waters. Concessionaires and food trucks aplenty are there to serve a variety of food and drinks.

So bring your blankets, bring yourselves, your family and your friends and enjoy a great evening celebrating this United States Independence Day.

I was unable to attend. Was it “The biggest ‘4th of July Celebration’ in the history of the world,” as promised? Anyone?
