HURRICANE — A single-car rollover in Hurricane Wednesday night had officers and search and rescue personnel looking for the vehicle’s driver, who was not on scene when officials arrived at the crash site and hadn’t been heard from since leaving his work in Springdale earlier that evening.
The Washington County Search and Rescue team was called out around 6 a.m. Thursday to search for the missing man, but the Hurricane City Police Department announced around 11 a.m. that the man had been found.
Wednesday night at approximately 11:52 p.m., a citizen driving in the area of 2260 W. 600 North in Hurricane saw a white 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer that had rolled and crashed. Officers and medical responders were dispatched to the scene but, upon arrival, did not find anyone in or near the vehicle.
“Officers began an investigation and searched around the area of the vehicle to see if anyone was ejected and did not locate anyone,” a press statement from the Hurricane City Police Department said.
Police believed the vehicle had been traveling westbound on 600 North, left the roadway, overcorrected and rolled, according to the statement.
Based on their investigation, officers suspected Jeramy Lynn Manwaring, 21, had been driving the vehicle at the time of the crash. Manwaring had reportedly left his workplace in Springdale around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. As of Thursday morning, no one had heard from him since he left work, the statement said.
Police attempted to contact Manwaring multiple times without success, and friends and family were concerned about his well-being. Police categorized him as a missing person.
At about 10:40 a.m. Thursday, a citizen who was aware of the search found Manwaring and brought him to the Hurricane City Police Department, according to a second notice posted by the Police Department regarding the incident.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are still being investigated as this report is published, and further details regarding how Manwaring was found have not yet been released.
“Jeramy appears to be doing fine and will be checked out by medical,” the second statement said. “We are speaking with him about the circumstances related to this incident. We are thankful that he has been found.”
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.

Looks like somebody tried to skirt a DUI. My brother did the same thing coming home from Mesquite 10yrs ago. They found my brother the next day with booze on his breath and charged him with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
