ST. GEORGE — Two pedestrians had a run-in with a car in St. George Friday night, and one of the pedestrians had his foot run over by the vehicle.
At about 8:30 p.m., a driver in a black Chrysler was stopped at a light on 700 South, waiting to turn right onto Bluff Street.
The vehicle was partially in the crosswalk, St. George Police Sgt. Rich Triplett said. The pedestrian crossing sign changed, and two pedestrians started crossing in front of the vehicle.
“The driver was looking left,” Triplett said, “and did not see the pedestrians as he continued to turn.”
One of the pedestrians, Bryce Prosser, was hit in the side of his leg by the car. He said he was feeling some pain in his leg and side, but he ultimately refused ambulance transport to the hospital.
“I’m a little bit upset,” Prosser said. “People need to be aware of pedestrians.”
The other pedestrian, whose foot was run over, was taken by ambulance to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George.
“I saw a black Chrysler try to turn on Bluff and hit these two guys,” witness Jake Raleigh said. “Luckily, they jumped out of the way and he (the Chrysler driver) turned to check if they were all right.”
No citations were issued in connection with the incident.

Pedestrians should be more aware
DRIVERS should be more aware.
Everybody should be more aware
Drivers should be more aware
No citations?.. he must’ve flashed them his mormon get-out-of-jail-free card (worthiness recommend)
Pretty good idea to make eye contact with the driver, if you are a pedestrian that is trying to cross a street. No matter how much “right of way” you may have, it isn’t gonna make you feel any better, if you are run over and killed. Thank God that wasn’t the case in this particular incident.
How in the world are there no citations? He ran over ones foot! For heavens sake he hit two pedestrians!
No citations issued , must be the walkers were crossing during the don’t walk sign. I always thought it should be OK to hit the walkers who cross illegally…Good to know
Big lifted pickups have the right of way over pedestrians 100% of the time. I forgot what open book said about cars tho. I think if it’s just a flesh wound then it’s the pedestrians fault, I think i if you kill them it is also the peds fault, but this open book test was so hard i dont recall.
Ouch!
As a pedestrian you can’t assume drivers are paying attention. Safety tip: make eye contact with a driver before crossing the street. ( in this case, the driver was looking the other way, a clear sign hes not paying attention to a pedestrian)
Kinda hard to make eye contact when you have a drunk wearing sunglasses and texting ya know
