CEDAR CITY — The Provo Bulldogs came away with a 40-16 at Cedar Friday night after an impressive showing of offense in the second half. The Cedar Redmen struggled to move the ball forward until late in the fourth quarter when it was all but over.

The Redmen led at halftime 16-15, after all 16 of their points were scored in the second quarter.

cedar-smProvo took an early 7-0 lead in the first but relinquished a safety in the second after a snap sailed over its punter’s head and out of the back of the end zone. Provo’s next possession, the Bulldogs got down to the 5-yard line before Cedar’s Jaden Tullis intercepted a pass in the end zone and returned it back for a touchdown. Provo would score on the ensuing possession, but left too much time for Mason Fakahua and the Cedar offense. Fakahua found Derek Ball for a 46-yard touchdown.

In the second half it was all Bulldogs. Provo forced two interceptions and the Bulldog’s offense was nearly unstoppable, leading Provo to the victory.

Cedar next plays Virgin Valley Friday, Aug. 28 at Cedar High School. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
