IVINS — Street painting combines the passion of artists with crowd appreciation at the fifth annual Kayenta Arts Foundation Street Painting Festival Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Ivins.
With the asphalt of the Kayenta Art Village as a canvas, pastels and chalk as the medium, large painted murals will unfold at the feet of thousands of spectators.
Arrive on Saturday morning, the first day, to see the early sketches of the works and watch the student competition. Come back on Sunday to see local professional artists complete their masterpieces.
The festival features world-class street painters, highly respected local artists, a high school competition and a kids area. Whether you want to come see professionals in action, compete or let your kids give it a shot, the artistry of street painting is, for many, unforgettable.

The festival has hosted different and talented featured artists every year. This year, those artists are Donovan Fitzgerald, Rebecca Haake, Vanessa McCullough, Rod Peterson (pending) and Anat Ronan (pending).
Previous years included Julie Kirk Purcell, Genna Panzarella, Lysa Ashley and Delphine Louie Anaya.
