ST. GEORGE — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah is hosting its annual “Bowl For Kids’ Sake” event March 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dixie Bowl, 146 E. City Center St. in St. George.

“The event is a lot of fun. We hope that people come out and support this very worthy cause,” the organization’s Southern Utah coordinator, Teri Iverson, said.

“Bowl For Kids’ Sake” is an annual fundraiser used to increase awareness and support so that more children in the community can realize their potential through a professionally supported one-on-one mentoring relationship. Big Brothers Big Sisters has been bowling for kids’ sake for over 25 years in Utah. In 2014, more than $165,000 was raised by local community members.

“All of the proceeds raised at Dixie Bowl will stay in Southern Utah and helps to create, maintain, and sustain our mentoring relationships in our community,” Iverson said.

This year’s theme is Comic Bowl. Participants are encouraged to grab a costume and dress as their favorite superhero, sidekick, or villain. The event is open to anyone who would like to participate in a fun activity that gives back to the community. “Bowl for Kids’ Sake” is a great team-building activity for companies or an entertaining outing for families and friends.

Participating bowlers receive two games of bowling, shoe rentals, pizza, drinks, T-shirts, and prizes from the organization’s generous community sponsors. There are several prize incentives and drawings to encourage fundraising.
