HURRICANE — Hurricane City Police Department issued a warning to the public and to business owners regarding counterfeit money Friday morning.
The police department issued a statement that an unspecified amount of counterfeit money has been seen being passed around Hurricane businesses Friday.
“We encourage all business to please be aware of this and pay special attention to large denomination currency,” the statement read. “When in doubt contact your local police department or contact your financial banking institution.”
The department warned the public that if counterfeit money use is suspected of a person, to contact Hurricane City Police Department immediately 435-627-4999.
