News short: Semitruck driver transported to hospital after rollover

CENTRAL — A semitruck driver was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center after he rolled his semi, which was carrying a load of hay, near mile marker 30.5 on state Route 18 Wednesday morning.

At 10:47 a.m., Utah Highway Patrol was dispatched, along with Pine Valley Fire, Brookside Fire, Enterprise Fire and Washington County Sheriff’s Office, to the accident scene near the Mountain Meadow Monument, between Central and Enterprise, where a driver had lost control and rolled his truck, UHP Sgt. Todd Royce said.

Life Flight had been called but was later cancelled, as the driver was up and able to walk. He was still transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center, Royce said. Information regarding the extent of the man’s injuries was not available at the time of this publication.

Traffic was shut down along part of SR-18 for about an hour while emergency responders cleaned up the accident scene.

This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement or other emergency responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
