ST. GEORGE—Dixie State University’s weekly series “Dixie Forum: A Window on the World” continues with a lecture by Clark Gilbert, CEO of Deseret News Publishing Company and Deseret Digital Media. Gilbert will present “Innovation in the Media” at a special time and location — 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, in the Zion Room on the fifth floor of Holland Centennial Commons on the DSU campus. Admission is free, and all community members and DSU students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend.
Before his tenure with Deseret News, Gilbert served as an associate academic vice president at Brigham Young University-Idaho, where he oversaw the university’s online learning and distance education initiatives. He was also a professor of entrepreneurial management at Harvard Business School and has a background in media innovation. Dixie Forum is designed to introduce the St. George community and DSU students, faculty and staff to diverse ideas and personalities while widening their worldviews via a 50-minute presentation. Dixie State students can earn one college credit by signing up for HUM 1000, attending lectures regularly, carefully considering the ideas expressed and writing about the presentations.
