36-year-old woman charged for sex with teen, again

ST. GEORGE – A 36-year-old St. George woman was arrested Sunday for allegedly violating a protective order and having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old after having been arrested June 26 on similar charges.

Jaime Renee Tactay faces two new third-degree felony counts of unlawful sex with a minor, four class A misdemeanors for protective order violations, and an infraction for aiding a minor to violate curfew, according to charges filed Tuesday in 5th District Court.

The case was originally brought to the St. George Police Department’s attention on June 24. After an investigation, officers discovered evidence that Tactay and the 15-year-old had sexual relations on at least eight occasions and shared sexually explicit photos and videos, St. George Police Officer John Manzer said in his probable cause statement supporting the arrest.

On June 26, Tactay was arrested and charged with one second-degree felony for sexual exploitation of a minor; eight third-degree felony counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor between 14-15 years old; one third-degree felony for the solicitation of child pornography; and one class A misdemeanor for evidence tampering.

While officers were conducting follow-up on Aug. 31 regarding a protective order violation by Tactay, according to court documents, it was determined by officers that Tactay had made contact with the 15-year-old listed as the petitioner on the order on at least four separate occasions between Aug. 15 and Aug. 29.

“It was also determined that during the contact she made with the victim in the early morning hours 08/31/14,” Manzer said in the statement, “the victim went with Tactay in her vehicle and the two participated in at least two acts of sexual activity, including sexual intercourse.”

According to Utah code 76-5-401.1 – sexual abuse of a minor – a juvenile is not old enough to consent to sex until he or she is 16 years old. And even then, consensual sex by minors is only defensible if the older party is less than 7 years older than the minor.

Tactay was again booked into the Washington County Purgatory Correctional Facility on Sunday.

Due to the circumstances, according to court documents, 5th District Judge John J. Walton ordered Tactay to be held without bail on the four additional counts of violation of the protective order and two counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor.

Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

  • Wrong on both sides September 2, 2014 at 1:33 pm

As wrong as this is, what about the 15 year old who keeps doing it. He is just as guilty as she is. If he didn’t want it he wouldn’t keep doing it. Look at both sides of the coin in this case. He is not screaming rape or help.

    • Wow September 2, 2014 at 2:31 pm

And even if the 15 year old “consents”, it’s still illegal. Just because he is not screaming rape does not mean that the woman is not harming him in some way. Someone that age is still developing and she is definitely taking advantage of him, whether or not he “likes” it. If I were his parent, I would most definitely want this woman locked up, and for the 15 year old to seek counseling.

    • DUH!! September 2, 2014 at 2:49 pm

      Thank you, I completely agree!

    • SAGEMOON September 2, 2014 at 3:45 pm

You’ve got to be kidding me with that comment. A 15 year old, boy or girl, will think it’s cool to have sexual relations with an older person. The 15 year old is still a victim. They don’t have the common sense or critical thinking skills to realize they are being victimized. This lady needs to serve prison time like any other pedophile who can’t stay away from their victim.

      • The Rest Of The Story September 2, 2014 at 8:01 pm

Or maybe she could start a religion, claiming that she saw god in a forest and he told her to do it. I know of at least one other child molester who did that…and several million idiots who believe the story.

Sending love and peace your way, Rest of the Story.

    • frontal lobe still developing September 4, 2014 at 12:31 am

a fifteen year olds brain has not fully developed. their frontal lobe is still growing. this is a decision making part of their brain (among other things).. anyways, the pain comes later when they realized they were used by someone they trusted, of authority at some point.. these are children… at fifteen, they don’t understand things and process them the way they do at eighteen… its a fact, mri’s can prove it.. feeling terrible for this kid and h is family.

  • My Evil Twin September 2, 2014 at 1:46 pm

Oh but I LOVE him/her. What a crock, throw the book at her. And as WOBS said, this wrong on both sides.

  • Not Convinced..... September 2, 2014 at 1:57 pm

You are so wrong. If this woman kept approaching my 15 year old we would both be in jail. She is the adult. She is not 17. Think about the effect this has had on this young man and his family. Do you really think he is able to foresee the longterm ramifications of this ‘relationship’ that began when he was in middle school? Are you kidding? Talk about narcissism. I am glad that Judge Walton sees her for the threat that she can be. If she can’t get to this kid there will be (or have been?) others. Lock her up. She’s a predator.

    • My Evil Twin September 2, 2014 at 2:47 pm

So just WHERE am I wrong, NOT CONVINCED? Are you trying to tell me I did NOT post throw the book at her. RE READ MY POST. As to my statement that this is wrong on both sides, are you trying to tell me that a 15 year old is not old enough to distinguish right from wrong? Give me a freaking break here.

    • Child Friendly Place September 3, 2014 at 9:48 am

What if your 15 year old solicited an adult?

  • goldie September 2, 2014 at 2:01 pm

To the comment “wrong on both sides.” Would you feel the same if the adult was a male who was having sexual relations with a 15 year old girl?

    • My Evil Twin September 2, 2014 at 2:49 pm

I can’t answer for WOBS, but for myself, yes I would feel that way if the 15 year old girl was OK with what was going on. Of course the adult is wrong and should be prosecuted, but the kid, at 15 is certainly old enough to know what is going on. If they encourage it, or even tolerate it, they do bear some responsibility there.

  • purplebug September 2, 2014 at 2:16 pm

Are u kidding right now with that he’s a child . A child that she took advantage of…smh and this isn’t the first time she’s done this . She violated a protective order….she is old enough to know better …..

    • My Evil Twin September 2, 2014 at 2:52 pm

Of course she knows better. She is a predator, no question about it. But at 15 years old, this “child” (which of course is what he is,) is old enough to know better and to put a stop to it.
Come on people, a kid of 15 is not an innocent little kid that doesn’t know right from wrong. And a kid of 15 is old enough to put their foot down, or at the very least, to tell an adult about what is going on.
I’m not making any excuses for this broad, just saying that the kid, while technically a “victim” is NOT “innocent.”

      • Andy September 2, 2014 at 3:24 pm

The kid is old enough to put his foot down but you have to realize he is young enough to be emotionally manipulated. I fear you are thinking like the guy who wishes he would have had an opportunity like this when he was 15. You aren’t realizing the emotional scarring this might bring to this young man as he tries to form lasting relationships later on. Isn’t this why we all were so critical of the FLDS?

        • My Evil Twin September 2, 2014 at 3:55 pm

Sorry to burst your bubble there Andy, but I certainly do not wish I had been involved in something like this at 15. And sure, he can be manipulated. Almost everyone can be manipulated by the right person. Or perhaps the WRONG person.
So send this kid to counseling, I’m sure he does need it. But I’m really curious here. Would you say this kid was totally innocent if he held up a convenience store and killed somebody, because “his friends emotionally manipulated him?”
What? Can’t quite hear your answer there.

          • chupacabra September 2, 2014 at 9:59 pm

Your logic falls flat Twin, peers of a 15 year old are most likely near the same age and emotional development. Toss a 37 year old “friend” in the mix and clearly the ability to manipulate a child is of a much greater magnitude than peer-pressure.

          • Andy September 3, 2014 at 12:34 pm

About the hypothetical kid robbing a convenience store…both me and the law hold a 15 year old kid to a different level of responsibility than that of an adult. I’m sure you’ve heard of the juvenile justice system. Your comments seem tainted with the idea that teenage boys cannot be victims of female pedophiles.

  • JAR September 2, 2014 at 2:42 pm

I think a little salt peter is in order here for the maturing kid and some jail time for the young lady.

  • That's My Boy September 2, 2014 at 3:15 pm

This is so ridiculous. The only way this is a crime is if the boy comes out saying he was gay, raped, forced, coerced, fathers a child, and/or gets a disease. Otherwise all males of cognitive ability are fair game. “Would I feel the same if it was reversed?” No. I don’t believe men and women are not the same, nor should they be. I am not saying it’s wrong for a female to be as sexual active as a male, but the potential harm is greater for a female.

    • justsayno September 13, 2014 at 10:08 am

The only special harm for a female victim is for her to get pregnant. But that’s easily remedied these days. So, today, there is no effective difference. Youngsters have sex drives, male or female. And preying on that when you *know* the legal line, is simply sexual predation. This woman is ridiculously guilty and she be sentenced severely. What’s ridiculous is your naive point-of-view.

  • bobber September 2, 2014 at 3:37 pm

I WILL EXPECT THEM BOTH IN THE BISHOP’S OFFICE FIRST THING SUNDAY MORNING. IT’S TIME FOR A WORTHINESS INTERVIEW.

    • Old man September 2, 2014 at 7:02 pm

Oh they be in to talk to the prest, if he has time after you

    • Koolaid September 2, 2014 at 8:51 pm

At least the boy doesn’t have a thing for horses and dogs. That ought to provide him some preservation on his standing.

  • lp September 2, 2014 at 4:47 pm

While I agree with you Bobber, the whole worthiness thing is growing tiresome. I dont understand how a grown woman can feel attracted to a young
boy. I dont know if she has children but I hope she does not and never will. A pedophile is a pedophile. Who knows where their boundaries are or if they even have any.

  • Zonkerb September 2, 2014 at 5:37 pm

I don’t care if the adult is a man or woman. It’s a moral sin and it’s a crime involving a minor even if the minor is a willing participant. It’s violating the law of the land and this women needs to be prosecuted. But like every other case before the courts the court will accept a plea bargain because the adult is a woman

  • Koolaid September 2, 2014 at 7:27 pm

I don’t get it. In a religious controlled state where boys are mature and old enough to become priests at the ripe old age of 12, you mean they are still too young and immature to partake in pleasures of the flesh? Shoot! The old men of this same religion partook in the pleasures of flesh of much younger girls, and that was acceptable? Your very own state attorney general (was it shurtleff?) wouldn’t take actions against the old men taking pleasure in the flesh of young girls. So this is suddenly shocking and bad in the state of temple worthiness that condoned in guys having many women and girls? Such hypocrites are those worthy btards!

  • Josephine Smith September 2, 2014 at 7:31 pm

Maybe she is the female version of Joe Smith, the Josephine Smith. It is the 21st century. Whereas Joe Smith bedded young girls, Josephine Smith beds young boys. We await her presenting some tablets of “the word”.

  • bobber September 2, 2014 at 8:49 pm

She’s a female pedifile rapist and needs to go away for life!

    • budgetbob September 3, 2014 at 5:33 am

True! however the sad fact is that if this was a man he would get life but she’ll get her hands slapped and sent on her way.

  • that guy September 2, 2014 at 10:14 pm

Maybe if her husband was a better lover or had a … as big as this kid this would of never happened.

I know sounds about as stupid as all the other comments.
    Ed. ellipsis.

  • rickie September 2, 2014 at 10:32 pm

    So guys & Gals;

Why cannot they throw the book at her and try the young man as an adult. Ive met some real mature and critical thinking teens before who are more clearer thinking than some of the older generation.

  • Davis Dalley jr September 3, 2014 at 4:49 am

So who gets to have sex with the teen now?

  • StG Gals September 3, 2014 at 7:12 am

Awww, come on. Everyone knows that mommas are all about trying to show their kids’ friends how cool they are, and this is just another example.

  • TheDude September 3, 2014 at 7:41 am

Just read some of the “related posts” listed at the end of the article and remember this state downloads more porn than any other per capita. Is this due to the overreach of the dominant religion? I THINK SO!!! Utard is bought and payed for by this moral majority. It rots your free will and judgment. Just as this witch is doing to this kid. Sorry meant to have a B instead of W on witch there editor.

  • very saddened by the violence September 4, 2014 at 12:50 am

this is destructive to this child because A. its no different for the woman than a man doing the same thing.. its about power and control. what easier way to control someone than to reach out to someone who looks up to you. sees you as a superior. B. when you pick on someone way younger than you, inexperienced in life, they have no way of defending theirselves about anything with you, this includes activities, sex, future goals.. we all know the older person who’s been around can dance circles around children. C. this then becomes a violent act, because he is powerless. he is just a tool to her to boost her own needs, desires.. she is probably narcissistic and will drain this kid emotionally.. she will insist his entire world revolve around her. there goes his childhood, his education, his family, his health.. you name it.. THAT IS VIOLENCE. she is a predator, and she doesn’t like not getting what she wants.. she is trying to prove to herself, that she will win.. and she doesn’t probably mind sitting in that jail cell right now.. because, she knows he is going to suffer guilt and remorse, and shame and miss her and so on.. and she got him again! against his parents wishes and the law.. this kid is going to suffer and grow up and realize how used he was.. i hope he puts her out of his mind and stops the free rent she has in his head, and i hope he just moves forward, graduates and goes to college and gets well quickly.. and i hope his parents keep her out of their heads too.. because she wins if they don’t.
