(January 22, 1920 – July 23, 2014)
Irene Milne Bulloch, 94, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at her home in St. George. Irene was born January 22, 1920 in Washington, Utah to her wonderful parents Athole Milne and Amanda Hannig. She was the ninth of 10 children, all of whom she adored.
Irene spent her childhood growing up in Washington and always considered it home. Nothing made her happier in her later years than taking a drive to Washington and reminiscing. Irene graduated from Dixie High School in 1936 and promptly moved to Los Angeles where she met her first husband, Ted Renchler.
Irene and Ted had two daughters, Diane and Mary. They later divorced and Irene and the girls moved to Las Vegas to be close to her sister Lily. Irene worked hard as a meatwrapper for many years to support her girls and stayed in Las Vegas until she met her adoring husband Bruce Bulloch. She and Bruce were married in Pioche, Nevada in 1975, and moved to Panaca, Nevada to start their life together, later moving to Brookside then Veyo until they eventually moved back to St. George settling down in Bloomington Hills. They had a happy marriage of 26 years with many wonderful memories together.
Irene loved traveling and always had an adventurous spirit. She loved being in the outdoors and working in her always immaculate yard. One of her favorite pastimes was searching for rocks to adorn her yard. She also loved music and was an accomplished pianist and loved playing the organ. She always had a sweet tooth and loved going out for frozen yogurt with Mary and her grandkids. She strived to live a frugal, humble life—extravagance was never her style, unless she could find it used at the DI or on sale at M&S Turquoise, two of her favorite shops.
Irene was a member of the LDS Church and truly loved the gospel. She loved doing temple work and held many callings throughout her life.
She set an amazing example for her family of honesty, love, and faithfulness.
She is survived by her two daughters, Diane Renchler of Big Island, Hawaii and Mary Russell (Harv) of St. George, five grandchildren, Ryan Prince, St. George; Taylor Prince (Kira), Las Vegas; Amanda Romprey (Rick), St. George; Anna Williams (Jason), St. George; and Sarah Somers, Pioche, Nevada; 13 great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, nine siblings: Annie, Clyde, Lily, Grace, Pearl, Jake, Grant, Ray, and Glen, and 3 grandchildren, Ralph and James Alsup and Hallie Somers.
Funeral Services
- Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 29, at 11 a.m. in the Bloomington Hills 8th Ward Chapel, 1222 E. Brigham Road (east chapel), St. George, Utah
- A viewing will be Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m., prior to services at the church
- Interment will take place in the Washington City Cemetery
