LETTER TO THE EDITOR – Contrary to my usual skeptical attitude, I had hopeful expectations that the four members of the St. George City Council would take a bold and refreshing step in making the new city council appointment.
Sadly, the process was a blatant and transparent charade. To essentially already have made up their minds as to who the new council person would be, and waste the time of 24 people is most unbecoming and disappointing.
It is beyond credulity and an insult to one’s intelligence to pretend to unbiasedly listen to that many people, then three council persons vote immediately for one, then go through the motions of having an alternate suggested, and then an immediate unanimous vote for the first.
These four council persons wouldn’t dare swear under oath, that this vacant council position wasn’t discussed and at least tentatively decided on well before the Thursday 23rd Council Meeting began.
Unfortunately, the St. George establishment network is still alive and well!
