Midnight gathering turns chaotic, man arrested

ST. GEORGE – Police arrested a man early Thursday morning for alleged burglary and aggravated assault with a weapon.

St. George Police officers were called to an apartment just after midnight where a gathering had become chaotic, Sgt. Sam Despain said. A person at the gathering, Ryne Walter Wall, 23, of St. George, was allegedly intoxicated and became angry with others in the apartment and started threatening them with a knife.

Despain said people tried to get away from Wall by going to another apartment. Wall followed them and forced his way into the other apartment, damaging the door as he did.

“He was not a fan of the police officers when they arrived,” Despain said. There was no altercation between Wall and the officers when the arrest took place however, nor was anyone involved in the incident cut or injured.

Wall was taken to the county jail and has been charged with two second-degree felony counts of burglary, two third-degree felony counts of aggravated assault with a weapon, two class B misdemeanors for criminal mischief and a class C misdemeanor for intoxication. Bail currently stands at $31,316.

Ed. Note:  Persons arrested or charged are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law or as otherwise decided by a trier-of-fact.

Is this an opinion or a news report?

I don’t see the problem. The only “opinion” I see was a quote from the police, not the author.
