IVINS – This Presidents’ Day weekend coming up, the Kayenta Gallery Walk and Artisan Street Market offers visitors a chance to view unique works from Southern Utah artists in an intimate setting.
This new event will be held Feb. 16 and 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Coyote Gulch Art Village. It replaces the annual Art in Kayenta Festival, which has been re-scheduled for October 2013.
An exclusive group of artists will exhibit and sell their work on the street, while Kayenta’s art galleries and studios will be open for visitors to browse. The event is an intimate affair showcasing fine art, home décor and jewelry made by some of the finest craftsmen in Southern Utah.
“(We wanted) to show off our community in a relaxed, casual setting, the way we see it every day,” Vice President of Kayenta Development Matt Marten said. Visitors will have the opportunity to stroll the galleries and businesses located in the village while enjoying the fresh air and beautiful scenery.
Aside from taking in the art, participants can visit the Xetava Gardens Café, Crescent Moon Inn, Sacred Space Spa and Kayenta Experience, a self-serve kiosk offering information on upcoming events and developments in the community.
